Duties and responsibilities of a Cathlab Nurse

Preparing patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, explaining the procedure to them, and obtaining their informed consent.
Monitoring vital signs and administering medications, including sedation and pain management, as necessary.
Assisting the physician during the catheterization procedure by providing medications, tools, and devices as required.
Documenting patient information, including medical history, allergies, and current medications.
Ensuring proper functioning of equipment and instrumentation before and during procedures.
Monitoring patients during and after procedures for signs of complications, such as bleeding or cardiac arrhythmias.
Providing emotional support to patients and their families during the procedure and post-procedure recovery.
Performing post-procedure care, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain and other symptoms, and documenting the patient's progress.
Maintaining a sterile environment during the procedure and ensuring proper infection control measures are taken.
Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, other nurses, and support staff, to provide comprehensive care to the patients.
