DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES OF ORTHO WARD NURSE
Assisting in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with musculoskeletal conditions, such as fractures, joint replacements, and spinal disorders.
Administering medications, including pain management and antibiotics, and monitoring patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
Performing and documenting patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and pain levels.
Educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and post-operative care.
Assisting in surgical procedures, including setting up surgical equipment, preparing the patient, and providing post-operative care.
Monitoring patients for signs of complications, such as infections, bleeding, or blood clots, and intervening as necessary.
Applying and removing casts and splints, and monitoring the patient for proper healing and any complications.
Assisting in rehabilitation and physical therapy, including range of motion exercises, ambulation training, and patient education.
Providing emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during their hospital stay and recovery.
Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
