Gynecological Examinations: Assisting with gynecological examinations, such as pap smears, breast exams, and screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). You may also educate patients about contraception methods, fertility, and menopause.
Medication Administration: Administering medications as prescribed by physicians, including oral medications, injections, and intravenous therapies. You will also monitor the patient's response to medications and provide appropriate education on their usage.
Patient Education: Providing information and education to patients about their reproductive health, family planning, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. This includes counseling patients on healthy lifestyle choices and answering their questions and concerns.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, interventions, medications administered, and the patient's response to treatment. You will also ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with the healthcare team, including physicians, midwives, other nurses, and support staff, to provide comprehensive care. You will also communicate with patients and their families to address their needs, provide emotional support, and offer guidance.
Emergency Care: Responding to obstetric and gynecological emergencies, such as complications during labor, excessive bleeding, or fetal distress. You will assess the situation, provide immediate care, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient.
